Glory coach Dave Mitchell confirmed on Wednesday an offer had been made for the 30-year-old Australia international to join his home-town club. Coyne is, however, also believed to be weighing up offers from clubs in Europe, the Middle East and China. But the Western Australia club have cooled talk of an agreement with the defender, which were increased by a report in the Herald Sun which claimed Coyne's management team had confirmed the deal, wary of approaching a player still under contract with the League One side. "Perth Glory is aware of media reports claiming Socceroos defender Chris Coyne has accepted a contract to join the club," said a club statement. "Perth Glory has not received official notification that Coyne has been released from his current contract and as such he remains a Colchester United player."
