Elgin 0-1 Clyde: Report

16 April 2011 20:44
McCusker strike enough for Clyde Marc McCusker's 11th league goal of the season was enough to earn bottom club Clyde a 1-0 victory at Elgin. The opening goal came after just four minutes as McCusker produced a smart right-footed finish from the edge of the box to put his side in front. The hosts almost drew level in the 29th minute as Jamie Duff met Barry Wilson's free-kick with a powerful header but Clyde goalkeeper John Hutchison tipped over. And McCusker nearly grabbed a second after 42 minutes but sent his header agonisingly wide. At the other end, Neil MacDonald nodded over from close range, and just after the break Hutchison did well to keep out Wilson's free-kick. Elgin kept searching for an equaliser, with Craig Frizzel's header blocked by Graham Girvan and Hutchison denying both Fraser Forbes and Jason Crooks in stoppage-time, but the visitors clung on to claim the points.
