Barclay blow for league leaders

Top-of-the-table Clyde are without goalkeeper Jamie Barclay for the visit of Albion Rovers.

Barclay has an ankle injury and will miss out at Broadwood but striker Stefan McCluskey could return after a knock.

Manager Jim Duffy is looking for his men to build on a mature performance at Montrose last weekend that yielded a 2-0 win.

He said: "Every game in this league is incredibly tight and this one will be no different. Last week we managed to get a two-goal lead early on and then showed great concentration levels to see the game out.

"We will need the same grown-up approach against a Rovers side that have been flying since beating Motherwell."

Kevin Nicoll comes back into the reckoning for Albion after two months out with a knee injury.

With Peter Innes (leg) and Pat Walker (ankle) both absent because of injury and Ryan Tiffney unavailable due to family commitments, Rovers manager James Ward is hoping to add Jordan Allan on loan from Dundee United ahead of kick-off.

Ward reckons that his side are meeting the most improved team in the division.

He said: "We defeated Clyde 3-0 on the second Saturday of the league season but I cannot see a game like that this time. They have improved leaps and bounds since then so this will be a really difficult game."
