Queen's Park stutter over line

Queen's Park will go into the play-offs without a win in three matches after finishing off the regular season with a 2-0 defeat at Clyde.

Goals in each half from Steven McDougall and Brian McQueen saw the Bully Wee end the campaign with back-to-back victories.

Scott Durie and Mark McLaughlin had efforts just off target early on before Durie again went close with a header that sailed narrowly over the crossbar after half an hour.

The breakthrough arrived four minutes later when, following a Billy Robb throw-in, McDougall sent a right-foot shot from the right-hand side of the area beyond William Muir.

McDougall turned provider for the second goal, sending in a cross for McQueen to head home after 70 minutes.

Queen's Park were disappointing and offered little until substitute John Carter saw a shot hit the crossbar with six minutes remaining.
