Johnston rescues point

A late goal from Montrose's Scott Johnston meant promotion candidates Clyde were held to a 1-1 draw.

Jonathan Crawford went close for the visitors early on with a shot inside the box, which was dragged wide of the target.

Stefan McCluskey opened the scoring after half an hour when he tucked away, for the seventh time this season, following a pass from Brian McQueen.

Shortly after the break, David Marsh could have doubled Clyde's lead as he found space inside the six-yard box and fired over the crossbar.

Stuart Garden's side then rescued a point when Bryan Deasley set-up Johnston to fire into the bottom-left of the goal.

McQueen nearly snatched a win for the Bully Wee as his header in the six-yard box cleared Stuart McKenzie's goal, which means they stay level on points with third-placed Stirling.
