Clyde 0-0 Annan Athletic: Match Report

Stalemate in Clyde

Annan missed the chance to pull five points clear at the top of the Scottish Third Division after playing out a bad-tempered 0-0 draw at Clyde.

The home side showed absolutely no ambition, not recording a shot for the entire 90 minutes as they parked the proverbial bus to hold out for a draw.

Clyde's Steven Sloan eventually engineered a chance before half-time but shot straight at Alan Combe when in a good position.

Sean O'Connor then had the best chance of the game but his close-range left-footed effort was again saved comfortably by Combe.

Clyde then attempted to shoot themselves in the foot when frustrated striker Stephen McDonald got sent off with 20 minutes left.

But Annan still could not find an opening and Peter Watson's foul on Liam Cusack was enough to see him receive his second booking, as both sides finished a forgettable match with 10 men.
