Diacre loses first game as Clermont boss

Corinne Diacre got her reign as Clermont coach off to a losing start as she saw her side beaten 2-1 at Brest.

The former France captain replaced Helena Costa in June after the Portuguese had become the first female coach of a professional men's club in the top two tiers of any European league.

But Costa resigned shortly after, prompting Clermont to hire Dacre, who took charge of the team in a professional game for the first time on Monday night.

Clermont got off to a perfect start with Souleymane Sawadogo firing them ahead after eight minutes. But Bruno Grougi equalised from the penalty spot six minutes after the break and Alexandre Alphonse found the back of the net 16 minutes later to ensure the visitors' Ligue 2 campaign got off to a losing start.
