Spireites handed Torquay test

The game at Plainmoor on August 8 is the first of a tricky opening month of the season for new Spireites manager Sheridan, whose side will also travel to play-off finalists Shrewsbury (August 22) and host Northampton (August 15), Notts County (August 19) and Morecambe (August 29). The return fixture against local rivals Notts County is at Meadow Lane on January 23. September begins with a trip to the Don Valley Stadium to face neighbours Rotherham, while the Millers visit Saltergate on December 28. The Spireites are on the road over the festive period. Sheridan's side travel to Port Vale on December 19 and are away at Lincoln on Boxing Day. Bournemouth are the visitors to Saltergate for the final game of the season on May 8.
