Chesterfield`s League Two promotion hopes have been dealt a blow with the news that leading scorer Jack Lester requires a knee operation that will keep him out for up to six weeks. The nine-goal striker has been to see a specialist and tests have uncovered a tear in part of the cartilage in his right knee.Lester has missed the Spireites` last two league matches but John Sheridan`s side have recorded back-to-back victories against Morecambe and Lincoln. He looks set to miss at least four more games.Meanwhile, Phil Picken will be out for up to three weeks after the defender suffered a knee ligament strain in training.Better news for boss Sheridan is that forward Drew Talbot has been given the all-clear to resume action following an ankle injury and he could come back into the reckoning for the visit of promotion rivals Bury at the weekend.
