Chesterfield striker Jamie Ward has hit out at the fans who continue to call for the head of manager Lee Richardson.
Richardson has come under fire from disgruntled supporters as they currently occupy 14th place in the League Two table.
"To be honest it is pathetic - the fans should be getting behind us," Ward told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"The majority are, but you always get a certain section that want the manager's head when things aren't going well.
"Hearing fans chant does get through to the players. It goes through the lads and knocks the confidence."
