Stadium progress pleases Hubbard

The Spireites took over ownership of 10 acres of land at Whittington Moor in February and Hubbard is in positive mood about the latest update of the proposed 10,500 all-seater venue. Hubbard, who confirmed the club have held talks with solicitors and builders about the venture, is confident they are getting close to where they want to be, especially with Sheffield-based businessman Dave Allen looking to invest in the club. "Once we've got the building contract there is nothing to stop us starting," he told the club's official website. "If Dave [Allen] gets approval from the Football League, we've got the contract signed, the entrance is finished or nearly finished, and we can get on. "We've spent nearly £1million already on the site so it's not as if nothing's happened. We're well on course."
