Chesterfield are waiting on news of the extent of an injury picked up by Jack Lester during Saturday's 2-1 win at MK Dons.
The striker was taken to hospital after bring replaced in the 69th minute and scans have revealed no leg break.
However, Spireites manager Lee Richardson is anxiously awaiting a full diagnosis of the injury.
"We've had an initial X-ray that hasn't revealed any break," Richardson told the club's official website.
"But hairline cracks sometimes appear up to 48 hours later, so we'll have more scans on Monday and Tuesday.
"The damaged area is the lower part of the shin and ankle, where the Achilles is and there may be ligament damage."
