Spireites upset at ruling

Chesterfield boss Lee Richardson has revealed his annoyance after Dagenham striker Ben Strevens avoided punishment from the Football Association. Stevens was at the centre of incidents which saw both Spireites midfielder Lloyd Kerry and captain Rob Page sent off in a 3-0 defeat on Saturday. Richardson claimed Kerry was handed his marching orders after retaliating when the striker 'squeezed his bits'. "This is almost a case of the punishment not fitting the crime as the current rules don't seem to cover understandable retaliation for what some would interpret as a case of sexual assault on a football pitch," claimed Richardson. "In the spirit of fairness, I hope that the FA will review the rules to see if incidents like this can be handled with greater flexibility in the future. "Apart from that we accept the punishments and just have to get on with it."
