Promotion-chasing Chesterfield have snapped up two Sunderland youngsters on one-month loan deals.
The Spireites have landed defender Peter Hartley and striker David Dowson and both players are expected to make their debuts in this weekend's clash with Brentford.
Hartley is 19 and has made one substitute for the Wearsiders' first team - in last season's 2-0 win at Leicester City on New Year's Day - and is also a regular for the reserves.
Dowson is also 19 and has been a prolific striker for Sunderland's youth teams.
He signed a professional contract with the Premier League side last summer but is still to make his first-team debut.
Chesterfield boss Lee Richardson told the club's official website: "We're grateful to Sunderland manager Roy Keane for loaning out these two players as they will help provide some healthy competition in the squad."
The Spireites manager has also not given up hope of bringing an experienced central defender to the club.
