Chesterfield have snapped up free agent former Nottingham Forest and Rotherham United defender Gregor Robertson. The 23-year-old was released by the Millers at the end of last season but has put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the Spireites. Robertson, a former Scotland Under-21 international, admitted he was persuaded to move to Saltergate after meeting manager Lee Richardson and his assistant Alan Knill. "Although I had other options, Chesterfield appealed to me because Lee Richardson and Alan Knill made this sound like a good place to be and I'm looking forward to being part of a successful season," he told the club's official website.
