Chesterfield boss Lee Richardson is hoping to add to his squad when the loan transfer window re-opens next week.
The Spireites chief is desperate to land a new striker, but admits that making a new signing is far from straightforward.
He told the Derbyshire Times: "Clubs like ourselves do not make too many transfers like we have seen in recent days.
"We deal mostly with free transfers, when players' contracts with other clubs run out, or loan moves which start again next week.
"There are three or four that I have been interested in all summer, but it is not a straightforward business. If money was no object we could go and get anybody."
