Young Chesterfield striker Jamie Jackson has joined Blue Square North side Gainsborough Trinity on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old, who has recently had a short loan spell at Matlock Town, has found it difficult to break into the first team this season.

He has been pushed further down the pecking order after the return of Adam Smith from a loan spell at League Two rivals Lincoln City.

Manager Lee Richardson said: "Opportunities are limited just now for Jamie so he has joined Gainsborough Trinity to get regular football where his progress can still be monitored."

The Blue Square North side have connections with the Spireites with former players David Reeves and Steve Blatherwick forming part of their backroom staff.
