Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson has completed the signing of Kilmarnock midfielder Peter Leven on a one-year deal, subject to a medical.

The 23-year-old ex-Rangers trainee rejected a new contract offer from Killie earlier in the summer after making 75 appearances in three seasons at Rugby Park.

Richardson told the club's official website: "As a manager you like to have as many good players as you can so I'm delighted that Peter Leven has agreed to join us as he'll add further quality to our squad."

Leven impressed in the Spirities' recent pre-season friendly against Matlock Town.
