Chesterfield have been fined by the Football League for fielding a weakened side in their Johnstone's Paint Trophy second round clash with Oldham Athletic earlier this month. The Spireites have been fined £3,000 of which £1,500 will be suspended for a year. The competition's rules state that all teams must field at least six players that have appeared in the most matches for the club this season. Roy McFarland fielded only four in his side's 1-0 win at Oldham Athletic on November 1.
