Spireites capture Ward

Chesterfield have sealed a deadline day double swoop with the signings of Torquay United forward Jamie Ward and Mouscron defender Sebastien Grimaldi.

Ward, a 20-year-old former Aston Villa, has been one of few consistent performers for the Gulls this season, netting 11 goals before his switch to Saltergate.

Twenty-seven-year-old Frenchman Grimaldi had been with the Belgian club for 18 months, having previously played in his homeland with Angers, Cannes and Lyon.

Spireites boss Roy McFarland told the club's official website: "I am delighted that we have been able to make these signings as it provides extra quality and competition for the squad."
