Chesterfield are confident after reaching agreement with Jack Lester over a new contract. Lester, 33, is currently out of contract at Saltergate, but is wanted for next season by newly-installed boss John Sheridan. The veteran striker has scored 48 goals in two seasons since joining from Nottingham Forest. "John knows Jack and obviously he will sit down with him and get something sorted," said chairman Barrie Hubbard. "I think there will be some news on that next week."
