Spireites trio unlikely to return

Chesterfield go into the top-of-the-table clash against Wycombe with no new injury problems. The game is likely to come too soon for defender Simon Ford (knock) and midfielders Mark Allott (ankle) and Dwayne Mattis (calf), so manager John Sheridan will select from the same group of players that slipped to a surprise home defeat to Morecambe. Sheridan described the 2-0 loss on Saturday as Chesterfield`s worst performance of the season and his assistant Tommy Wright expects a response against their nearest rivals. "Saturday was very disappointing and perhaps the only positive to come out of it is that we have a chance to bounce back quickly," said Wright. "Let`s put things into perspective, we are still top and every team in the league would swap places with us. We couldn`t get a better game to respond and I`m sure the players will. "It`s a massive opportunity if we can win to stretch our lead at top, but Wycombe are a good team and are deservedly second in the league. However, we are top and we have to go out and have the confidence to show that we are the best team in this division.`
