Spireites organise pitch inspection

An army of volunteers have spent the last two days clearing snow from the playing surface but the freezing weather conditions may still see the match postponed.[LNB]A spokesman for the club said: "The club appreciates all the efforts of the willing volunteers but we may still be thwarted in our attempts to get the game on.[LNB]"The snow has been cleared but the pitch beneath is frozen, especially in the goalmouths. There are also icy patches in some of the spectating areas and further snow to be cleared from there.[LNB]"The public areas outside the stadium are also a cause for concern as the local authority has no plans to grit the roads and footpaths and other areas surrounding Saltergate, and spectator safety is obviously an important issue when deciding whether the game can go ahead."[LNB][LNB]
