Spireites look to avoid cup banana skin

Chesterfield manager John Sheridan will make changes when his League Two leaders travel to Harrow Borough in the FA Cup. Sheridan sees the first-round tie as a chance to give some of his fringe players a run out, but stressed that it would still be a strong team that takes to the field against the Ryman League Premier club. Two changes will be enforced, with on-loan full-backs Scott Griffiths and Jack Hunt set to miss out. Griffiths played the final game of his spell from Peterborough against Accrington on Tuesday night as he is ineligible for the cup, while Huddersfield's Hunt sustained a knock against Stanley. Kelvin Lomax and Deane Smalley, signed on loan from Oldham this week, are eligible and Lomax could replace Hunt. Shane Redmond or Mark Crossley are likely to replace Tommy Lee in goal, while defenders Ian Breckin, Gregor Robertson and Dan Gray and strikers Scott Boden and Jordan Bowery are also potential starters.
