Smalley back in the frame at Shrews

Deane Smalley is set for a recall when league leaders Chesterfield travel to fellow promotion contenders Shrewsbury. Manager John Sheridan has indicated that Smalley will start at The Greenhous Stadium. The on-loan Oldham forward was the star man in the win at Southend. However, he was back on the bench against Stevenage last weekend. "Deane will play at Shrewsbury," said Sheridan. "He's got a bit of confidence and I'm not afraid to make changes. I don't like swapping and changing too much but I do it for the benefit of the team. "He was our best player at Southend and it was difficult to leave him out. He came on for 15 minutes in the win over Stevenage and looked sharp again." Veteran striker Jack Lester is likely to make way for Smalley`s return to the side. Fellow forwards Dean Morgan and Scott Boden remain out with ankle injuries but defender Scott Griffiths should play after returning on loan from Peterborough, while Javan Vidal will also be included in the squad after signing on loan from Manchester City.
