Sheridan content with loanee

Chesterfield boss John Sheridan was pleased with loan signing Donal McDermott's debut in the 2-0 defeat at Torquay United.

The 19-year-old Irishman has joined the Spireites for three months from Manchester City and showed up well at Plainmoor.

Sheridan told the Derbyshire Times: "I thought the young lad did very well.

"He trained with us only on Friday and I thought he looked nice and bright. He'll be a big player.

"He's at Man City, he's a very exciting player who I've watched a few times and he showed glimpses that he's going to be a big player for us.

"I was very pleased with his performance."
