Sheridan: Consistency is key

Chesterfield manager John Sheridan targeted greater consistency from his side after they claimed a 2-1 win over Barnet in their first league match at the b2net Stadium.Dwayne Mattis and Jack Lester were on target for the Spireites before Glenn Poole pulled a goal back for the Bees. The hosts were forced to hang on in the closing minutes after Craig Davies was dismissed for a rash challenge on Steve Kabba - who left the pitch on a stretcher - in the 83rd minute."It's obviously pleasing to get off to a winning start and that was the most important thing, to get the three points," said Sheridan"We were on and off, I thought we played well in patches and then we switched off at times which could have affected the game. I thought we did really well, although we could have made the game a lot easier."We were a bit edgy near the end. Once we went 2-0 up I thought it was game over, but we will work on what we did wrong and try and correct that."They made it very hard for us. It doesn't really matter who you play in the first game of the season, you often get funny results. But we got a winning performance and that's what matters."
