Sheridan takes positives from Spireites draw

Chesterfield manager John Sheridan was pleased with his side's performance and insisted he would take the positives despite only drawing 1-1 at Bury. Craig Davies gave Chesterfield the lead in the 20th minute but Ryan Lowe equalised less than a minute into the second half for the Shakers. Deane Smalley was dismissed in the 85th minute for Chesterfield but his side held on for a draw. Sheridan said: "I thought we played well in the first half. We passed it well and had we had a bit more belief we could have caused them more problems. But they caused us problems too. "I go in at half time and say keep a clean sheet and tell them what to do. Then, 45 seconds later, we concede. Again it's a joke goal and this is why I get very frustrated. "Then they get the momentum. They get opportunities because they're in the driving seat but we hung on. "But they haven't gained any ground on us and we showed character after Friday's defeat so we can take those points as positives."
