Sheridan set to ring the changes

Sheridan lost his first game in charge as the Blues got their League Two campaign underway with a 2-0 defeat at newly-promoted Torquay on Saturday. He reported no fresh problems following the game at Plainmoor, so the only absentees remain Aaron Downes (knee) and the suspended Jack Lester. Last season's top scorer Lester will return to the reckoning for Chesterfield's first home game of the season against Northampton at the weekend after serving a three-match ban. On-loan Manchester City striker Donal McDermott is available to face Scunthorpe after the Premier League club granted permission for him to play in the competition.
