Sheridan salutes solid Spireites

First-half goals by Aaron Downes and Dominic Green put Sheridan's men in the driving seat in Tuesday's League Two clash at Vale Park, but the hosts dominated after the break and created enough chances to earn a point after Craig Davies' goal soon after the restart.[LNB]Sheridan said: "It's a great result for us because Vale are a good side and put us under a lot of pressure. They will beat a lot of teams in this division.[LNB]"What we did do was start the game very well, put ourselves into a winning position and then held onto it. We seemed to invite Vale on after going two up and Tommy Lee has made some good saves to get us over the finishing line.[LNB]"But other players have put their bodies on the line to keep the lead and I'm very pleased with what they have given me. Other results haven't gone for us tonight, but we can't do any more than win games ourselves."[LNB][LNB]
