Sheridan salutes five-star Spireites

The Spireites put down another impressive marker at home as they cruised to an eighth league victory at Saltergate at the expense of Darlington, who suffered an eighth away defeat.

Sheridan said: "I have always said that we will score goals with the way that we try and play and to get five in a game, you can't ask for much more.

"Successful teams score from different areas of the pitch and we have a lot of players who are chipping in with goals.

"But once again, the most important thing for me is that we got the three points. It was a tricky game, everyone thought it was a banker but I didn't see it that way.

"Full credit to the players, it was a very good performance in very tricky conditions and we created lots of opportunities."
