Sheridan rues possession concession

Chesterfield manager John Sheridan expressed concern that carelessness in possession is costing his League Two table-toppers following the 1-0 defeat to Burton. The Brewers, who won at the B2net Stadium and also dumped the Spireites out of the FA Cup earlier in the season, brought Chesterfield's 10-match unbeaten run to an end thanks to Aaron Webster's fifth minute strike. The final three games of that run were draws and Sheridan, a cultured midfielder in his playing days, wants his players to use the ball better. "That's what cost us the goal in the first place because we gave the ball away on the edge of their box and 30 seconds later it was in the back of our net," he said. "That's been our downfall in the last three or four games. We just keep giving the ball away and it just makes it hard for us. "People are making the wrong decisions, often when we're in possession, and it's costing us at the moment."
