Sheridan relieved to hold on

Chesterfield boss John Sheridan admitted that his side made life difficult for themselves in the 4-3 victory over Shrewsbury. Goals from Drew Talbot, Jack Lester and Craig Davies shattered the visitors who conceded again when Davies added a second in the 63rd minute. But Mark Wright, Kevin McIntyre and Craig Disley hit back in the last 10 minutes to set up a tense finale. "I'm disappointed that it's ended up 4-3 because we totally dominated a good side for an hour," said Sheridan. "I will take the positives out of it even though we took our foot off the pedal at 4-0 and I told the lads it was a great result, go and have a pint. At 4-0 you think it's a comfortable position but we have made life very difficult for ourselves towards the end. "We shouldn't have stopped doing what we were doing against a team who will be up there this season. But we are top and I am well pleased, full credit to the players and the fans who were great."
