Sheridan: Nothing is settled

02 March 2011 12:30
Chesterfield manager John Sheridan still refuses to get carried away after seeing his side move nine points clears at the top of the table with a 4-1 win over second-placed Wycombe. Deane Smalley, Danny Whitaker's penalty and Jack Lester put the hosts into a commanding position, while Craig Davies added a fourth after Jon-Paul Pittman's consolation for the visitors. Sheridan said: "It was a big game, but there's still a long way to go and nothing is settled one way or the other. "After losing on Saturday (2-0 at home to Morecambe) there was a lot of hurt in the club and we reacted in the best possible way. "There's still a lot to play for, but this was a game we needed to win after letting ourselves down on Saturday. "That was one of our worst performances since I've been here, but this one would have to be ranked up there with the best."
