Sheridan: Let's not celebrate just yet

Chesterfield manager John Sheridan displayed remarkable restraint despite a resounding 5-0 victory over local rivals Rotherham. Jack Lester scored his second hat-trick of the season with first-half strikes from Dean Holden and Craig Davies giving the Spireites a win that nudges them ever closer to promotion from League Two. Sheridan said: "We have shown we are quite a decent side when we get going. "I thought the first half performance was top drawer. We dominated the game and it was a very good team performance, it was one of the best performances I have had as a manager. "We would have caused any team problems with the way we played in the first half. I like to set standards and I want us to get out of this division and play at a higher level. "We are very pleased with the way things are going but it's still possible for other teams to catch us so we are just concentrating on the next game. "I don't really want to say what points will get us up but we are in a healthy position." Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore said: "It was embarrassing, gutless. I have picked an eleven to come here and do a job, the selection was down to me and I thought they could compete. "But we couldn't deal with Lester, we made him look like Ronaldinho, and if you defend in the way we defended you are going to get beat. "At half time a lot was said and at least we had a bit of a go but the defending for the fourth goal was embarrassing. I can't pick out any of my players who have done well, I think we have made them look better and they have met a poor side. "They will come in and see the video and there will be no hiding place for anybody. More than 2,000 people have paid good money to come and see that and how many derby games finish 5-0? "It was a gutless performance and they have let me down and themselves down. They want to walk around with a box over their heads."
