Sheridan fumes at Spireites display

The clash between the two promotion hopefuls was plunged into doubt before kick-off following the inclement weather, leading Sheridan to give his ground staff a helping hand to ensure the game went ahead.[LNB]Referee David Phillips inspected the Saltergate pitch twice before giving his approval and Sheridan admitted he was eager for the match to take place.[LNB]The Spireites were condemned to their second successive defeat, though, and Sheridan was left frustrated by a below-par display from his players.[LNB]"I wanted the game on, I love football. And I wanted us to try and get a positive result. I was very confident that we would do that so I'm very disappointed as we didn't," said Sheridan.[LNB]"It was a poor performance. I didn't think we got going. I made some changes to try and give us a bit of a start but that didn't happen. For some reason we just didn't get going until they got a man sent off and performance wise, it was probably our worst of the season."[LNB][LNB]
