The only goal came from Ben Davies, who fired a 20-yard strike into the bottom corner in the 20th minute.[LNB]Both teams had good chances in the second half, John Thompson striking a post for County and Chesterfield's Wade Small being denied by home keeper Kasper Schmeichel.[LNB]Sheridan said: "I can't fault my lads because they showed a lot of commitment and gave as good as they got but we lacked a final cutting edge and it has cost us.[LNB]"It's not like County ever really opened us up and the one disappointing thing is that we gifted them the goal following three sloppy clearances.[LNB]"I didn't feel there was a lot between the two sides. It was a passionate local derby but the referee frustrated me because he kept blowing for every little foul and wouldn't let the game flow. You can't even talk to them any more. Some of them think they are bigger than the players."[LNB][LNB]
