Chesterfield goalkeeper Barry Roche is hoping to get the chance to prove to Nottingham Forest that they were wrong to release him last summer.
The 23-year-old has missed the last five games because of a thigh injury, but is confident he is ready to return against his former club on Saturday.
"It would have been a horrible game for me to have missed," Roche told the Derby Evening Telegraph.
"I was hoping to have made my comeback a bit sooner and was in line to play against Swindon last Saturday, but tweaked my muscle in training."
Spireites boss Roy McFarland also hopes to have Wayne Allison available for the visit of Forest, after the veteran striker sat out last weekend's 2-0 defeat at Swindon with a hamstring problem.
