Positive point for Sheridan
Chesterfield manager John Sheridan was happy to be leaving Shropshire with another valuable point to add to the club`s promotion charge after their goalless draw at Shrewsbury.Spireites stopper Tommy Lee denied Town's new strike partnership of James Collins and Tom Bradshaw before keeping out Craig Disley when he was clean through.Shrews again knocked on the door in the second half but the visitors, who had also enjoyed chances, could easily have grabbed bragging rights late on when Deane Smalley somehow managed to lift the ball over from close range. And Sheridan was left to say: "It was a point gained from an even game. Tommy (Lee) made some good saves and Smalley had a good chance with a first-half header and he should have done better. I think neither side played really well but put in a lot of effort for a good battling point."Smalley's miss at the end, well it probably came a bit too quick for him but he was in the right place but unfortunately it didn't end up in the back of the net."It was important to get a point. Shrewsbury are one of the teams who will be up there at the end of the season so they haven't gained anything on us and other results have gone our way so in the end it was a very, very good point."
