Despite cries from his own fans of 'you don't know what you're doing', Richardson was proved correct but he was happy to play down the chant.
Richardson said: "I always like it when I hear that chant because something often happens. I felt that we were under the cosh in the second half and we needed to change things.
"The conditions were horrendous in the second half so I brought on Gritton to keep the ball up top and to add some maturity to the team.
"I am just happy for all the fans who came up to support us. Those chants are not important because all that matters is that we got the three points."
