New signings set for Spireites bow

Chesterfield boss John Sheridan could include several summer signings when his side open their campaign at home to Barnet.Sheridan signed Dwayne Mattis, Danny Whitaker, Craig Davies, Ian Morris, Simon Ford and Shane Redmond during the close-season as the Spireites bid to improve on last season`s eight-placed finish.Jamie Lowry looks set to be the only definite absentee as he recovers from the serious knee injury suffered in October.Striker Jack Lester has been nursing a knee problem but is hopeful of being passed fit.Sheridan is still looking to add players to his squad to create competition for places at the b2net Stadium."I don't want people thinking they are automatic choices in the side so we need one or two more in," said Sheridan.
