Magpies draft in Picken

Notts County have snapped up defender Phil Picken on a month's loan from League Two rivals Chesterfield.

Magpies boss Ian McParland has drafted Picken in after Jason Beardsley and Mitch Hanson returned to Derby County at the end of their loan spells.

He told his club's official website: "Bringing in a right-back was essential and I am delighted we have been able to acquire Phil for a month.

"He is a tough character who I have seen on a number of occasions over the past few years and he is a welcome addition to our squad."

Picken has made just over 130 appearances for the Spireites to date, scoring just twice for the Saltergate club.
