Lester set for Spireites return

Jack Lester is likely to return to Chesterfield`s starting line-up when the runaway leaders host fellow promotion hopefuls Port Vale. The veteran striker, who has started every home game this season, took his customary role as a substitute for away matches during the 2-2 draw at Barnet last Saturday. On-loan Crystal Palace forward Kieran Djilali is the man most likely to make way for Lester`s return. So strong is John Sheridan`s squad at present that Jamie Lowry and Scott Boden did not even make the bench at Underhill. They will be hoping for recalls along with Dwayne Mattis, Derek Niven, Ian Breckin and Ian Morris. Simon Ford has recovered from a calf injury but is lacking match fitness after five weeks out, so boss Sheridan will stick with the central defensive partnership of Dean Holden and Gregor Robertson. Chesterfield drew 1-1 at Vale Park back in August.
