Lester ready for return

Jack Lester is expected to play some part in Chesterfield`s pre-season friendly against Barnsley. The 34-year-old striker sustained a knee injury during last weekend`s thrilling 5-4 defeat to Derby and missed the midweek win at Tamworth. However, Blues boss John Sheridan expects Lester to be fit for Saturday`s match. "He has got to an age where we have to look after him properly and I didn't feel he needed to play at Tamworth," said Sheridan. "Drew Talbot and Jordan Bowery had the chance to play but he will play on Saturday." Sheridan went on to say that the side that starts against Barnsley will `not be a million miles away` from the one that kick-offs the League Two campaign at home to Barnet on August 7.
