Chesterfield have been boosted by the news that highly-rated striker Caleb Folan has signed a one-year contract extension.
Folan has been linked with a move to a host of higher division sides after scoring in the Spireites' shock victory over West Ham in the Carling Cup last month.
But the 24-year-old has signed a new deal at the League One club which will keep him at Saltergate until June 2008.
"Caleb has really caught the eye with his performance this season and if that means he eventually moves to a higher league club in the future we will be pleased for him," Chesterfield boss Roy McFarland told the club's official website.
"In the meantime, Caleb has committed himself to being with Chesterfield for another year and we are delighted with that."
