Dejected Sheridan vows to battle for title

Chesterfield manager John Sheridan was dejected after his side lost 3-2 against fellow title chasers Bury - but was refreshingly honest in his assessment of the encounter. And, having already secured promotion, he vowed his side will again go on and try to wrap up the title with a two-point advantage over Bury with two matches remaining. He said: "It's disappointing because we were hoping to get the right result that would have helped us take the title but I will hold my hands up and say Bury were probably the better side. "They have got two quality players up front and they just punished us, and when we go a bit higher that's what we need to do better on. "We were sloppy and switched off at times but full credit to them, second half we came out and had a real go and got at them and created problems but we got done with a sucker punch once or twice. "But we've achieved promotion which I'm chuffed to bits with for the fans and the club and now I want to try and win the league because that proves you are the best side."
