Davies wins monthly award
Chesterfield striker Craig Davies has won the npower League 2 Player of the Month award for October.
Davies scored four league goals during the month, including a match-winning double at Wycombe, to help propel John Sheridan`s side to the top of the table.
The 24-year-old saw off competition from fellow forward Kevin Betsy (Wycombe) and midfielders Hamza Bencherif (Macclesfield) and Steven Schumacher (Bury) to claim the prize.
Emma Collins, head of sponsorship at npower, said: "We would like to congratulate Craig Davies on picking up this month`s award and we are delighted to be able to reward the hard work that has led to these fantastic performances.
"It is great to be able to recognise these individuals who are making the npower Football League such a success."
