Davies setback for Spireites

Top scorer Craig Davies looks like losing his battle to be fit for Chesterfield`s trip to Gillingham. The 14-goal striker is still struggling with a hamstring problem so the Boxing Day visit of Bradford will be his next target for a return. However Dean Morgan, who played for over an hour and scored twice in the midweek Derbyshire FA Senior Cup victory against Evo-Stik Premier side Mickleover Sports, looks ready to return after a groin injury. Defender Jamie Lowry completed the full 90 minutes in that game to move closer to a return to first-team contention after 14 months out with a knee injury. He could be on the bench at the Priestfield. Ian Morris and Rob Page also got a run out to help get them back to match fitness, while fellow defender Jack Hunt looks to be over his bout of illness.
