Tom Anderson returns to Spireites squad

Chesterfield have Tom Anderson back in contention as they prepare to host in-form Oxford.

The central defender served a one-match ban as the struggling Spireites earned a very creditable point at play-off chasing Millwall in midweek.

Gary Caldwell, still searching for his first win as Chesterfield boss, is unlikely to make too many changes to his team after that goalless draw with the Lions.

Striker Ched Evans has had a scan on the ankle injury that has been keeping him out and it is hoped he might be involved on Saturday, but midfielder Jon Nolan (hamstring) will probably remain on the sidelines.

Oxford manager Michael Appleton could recall leading goalscorers Kane Hemmings and Chris Maguire for the trip to Derbyshire.

Striker Hemmings, who has scored 14 in all competitions, and 13-goal forward Maguire were left on the bench for the midweek win at Charlton, but Appleton has said he will be rotating his squad for the remainder of the season.

Fellow striker Conor McAleny will be hopeful of retaining his starting place, however, after claiming his first U's goal to earn victory against the Addicks.

Wes Thomas and Aaron Martin (both Achilles) are likely to remain sidelined.
