Chesterfield sweat on fitness of Rai Simons

Forward Rai Simons is a doubt for Chesterfield's Sky Bet League One game with Charlton.

The Bermuda international was forced off in the first half of Monday's defeat at Scunthorpe due to injury and he could be replaced by Reece Mitchell.

Teenager Charlie Wakefield made his debut from the bench against the Iron and he and fellow youngster Joe Rowley are both likely to feature for the already-relegated Spireites.

Dion Donohue sits out the second game of a three-match ban following his dismissal against Southend on Good Friday, while striker Ched Evans remains sidelined.

Charlton have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to Derbyshire.

Right-back Chris Solly missed Easter Monday's comfortable 3-0 victory over relegation strugglers Gillingham but could be in contention for a return on Saturday.

With Chesterfield already down, Addicks boss Karl Robinson may look to change things up and give youth a run-out.

A late Lee Novak header was the difference between the two sides in October as Charlton beat Chesterfield 1-0 at The Valley.
